Night of the Living Dead : Origins update

zeb100509I have another update on NOTLD : Origins. Joining the cast are Jesse Corti, Danielle Harris, Bill Moseley, Joe Pilato, Alona Tal and Cornell Womack. But that’s not the most exciting news.

Zeb de Soto said nearly all zombie movies end up in an enclosed environment, be it a house or a mall, and he aims to change that.

“It’s going to be the first zombie movie played on a epic scale,” De Soto said. “This is the ‘Empire of the Sun’ of zombie films.”

Epic Zombie movie = Totally freaking awesome. I can’t wait to see a horde of flesh eaters trouncing their way through a heavily populated city.

Night of the Living Dead : Origins

zeb100509Ok corpses listen up. This is the most exciting movie news I’ve heard in HOURS! IF you venture on over to bloody-disgusting.com you can read up on an interview with the upcoming “Night of the Living Dead: Origins” director Zeb de Soto.

NOTLD: Origins revolves around the back stories of the original characters from George A. Romeros original Night of the Living Dead such as Cooper and Barbara. Each of the characters had a story to tell of the Zombie uprising, and Origins intends to delve into those stories and put them up on the big screen. As well, the movie will be entirely in 3D digital animation style described by de Soto as a “Living painting”. See the screenshot for his meaning.

After reading this interview, I am VERY excited to see how this movie pans out. I’m a big fan of the NOTLD original, but I’ve always wanted more back story on the origin of the outbreak itself. That and the character backgrounds puts this movie at the top of my list for upcoming Zombie flicks that I have to see before I die.
