Ian Mckellan + Zombies = E’gads Zombies! This movie looks to be a precursor to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Written and produced by Matthew Butler and Tori Hart, E’gads Zombies takes place in 18th century London and stars Ian McKellen. This short films is just about wrapped up and ready to head to film festivals. They are hoping that Cannes will be the first one, but regardless it’s sure to be a hit wherever it ends up. The story looks fun, and Sir Iam Mckellen looks to deliver a promising role in this 18th century Zombedy. Check out the trailer below for some Zombie action. I can’t wait to see this whole movie!

“Zombies and Cigarettes” is a short film that takes place in a mall where a bunch of infected suddenly appear and cause havoc. My first impression of this short film was not great. I liked the intensity of the infection. The Zombies were pretty cool in their fast moving way. But the film has a corniness to it that takes away from the Horror of it all. True, that may be the intent of the film, but I felt that the ending was not great and that the film left me wanting more Zombie action.
Overall, I’d give it 3/5 fresh brains. Yeah baby. Why don’t you just watch it for yourself and see.

So some guys in Toronto are trying to put together a Zombie short film festival. I think that might be the most awesome short film festival EVER conceived. So, I’m posting it here.
As it stands, anyone can join. There’s a (tentative) $20 entry fee and two rules.
- The film must be 20 minutes or shorter.
- It must be about zombies (duh)
It’s in Toronto and hopefully being held at the Revue Cinema. For more information go to http://zombieshortfilmfestival.blogspot.com and check out the details. As it stands the entire event is conceptual and tenative. Without support it’s doomed to failure. So go out there, make a cool zombie film, and submit it so this can happen!
Go Zombies!
